“SESAR is Europe’s unique and ambitious air traffic management modernization programme. It will develop the new generation of air traffic management systems Europe needs. Last August, AVTECH Sweden was selected within three bids in a call issued by SESAR JU, which was exclusively addressed to SMEs, Research Organizations, Universities and Institutes of Higher Education. Out of eight consortia, AVTECH will be part of three partnerships and these are as follows:
- MAGNITUDE Consortium (Airborne Systems)
- INNOVATE Consortium (Validation)
- ATM-Fusion (UAV/UAS)
Other prestigious members of these newly formed consortia include ENAC (Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile), ONERA (Office National d’Etudes et de Recherches Aérospatiales), CIRA (Centro Italiano Ricerche Aerospaziali), INTA (Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aerospacial), The University Court of the University of Aberdeen (UNIABDN),
The University of Edinburgh (UEDIN) and Deep Blue Srl (DBL).
The only other candidates to be selected for and awarded three direct partnerships with SESAR JU were DLR (German Aerospace Center) and NLR (National Aerospace Laboratory Netherlands).
