AVTECH announces inclusion within consortia that have achieved Associate Partner status with SESAR JU, and is attending ATC Global in Amsterdam.

Ahead of the annual Air Traffic Management conference, ATC Global Exhibition and Conference held in Amsterdam between 6-8 March 2012, AVTECH Sweden is confirming its three direct partnerships with the Single European Sky ATM Research (SESAR) Joint Undertaking (JU). The main objective of attending the conference is that of expanding business through collaboration on joint projects and seeking out new business on the premier venue for Air Traffic Management (ATM).

“SESAR is Europe’s unique and ambitious air traffic management modernization programme. It will develop the new generation of air traffic management systems Europe needs. The programme unites all air transport actors, reaches out to its international counterparts and helps lowering the environmental impact of aviation. At ATC Global, the SESAR Joint Undertaking presents the progress made so far and gives an outlook to what will happen in 2012.” (ATC Global Programme, 2012)

Last August, AVTECH Sweden was selected within three bids in a call issued by SESAR JU, which was exclusively addressed to SMEs, Research Organizations, Universities and Institutes of Higher Education. Out of eight consortia, AVTECH will be part of three partnerships and these are as follows:

  • MAGNITUDE Consortium (Airborne Systems)
  • INNOVATE Consortium (Validation)
  • ATM-Fusion (UAV/UAS)

Other prestigious members of these newly formed consortia include ENAC (Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile), ONERA (Office National d’Etudes et de Recherches Aérospatiales), CIRA (Centro Italiano Ricerche Aerospaziali), INTA (Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aerospacial), The University Court of the University of Aberdeen (UNIABDN),

The University of Edinburgh (UEDIN) and Deep Blue Srl (DBL).

The only other candidates to be selected for and awarded three direct partnerships with SESAR JU were DLR (German Aerospace Center) and NLR (National Aerospace Laboratory Netherlands).

David Alvord, CEO at AVTECH, comments:

“We are very much looking forward to attending this year’s ATM conference at ATC Global and thereby engage in interesting and productive discussions in the newly formed consortia as well as meeting with potential customers and collaborators with the purpose of expanding our business. The exhibition is an excellent venue and meeting place in view of networking opportunities, sharing industry knowledge and generally in associating with other main figures of the international ATM community.”
